We now have 9 tables set up with 9 seats each as our numbers have either remained steady or have increased each month.  Nice to see Ficklin full.  This past dinner we had 65 adult guests and 6 children in addition to all the volunteers that either serve as table hosts, greeters, food servers , cooks or clean up crew!  Many wonderful new faces again.

A guest who has come one other time told a couple of volunteers that ” the laughter and the hospitality, besides the food, keep me going until I can come back the next month”. Always such nice compliments on the food, the kindness shown and the atmosphere of community.

The meal for April is one of the favorites that we have served, especially among the children.  It consisted of Texas Beef Tacos, Green Chile and Chicken Taco Casserole, Slow Cooker Refried Beans, Taco fixings( including cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, salsa, jalapenos), fresh fruit and yummy desserts( lemon bars, snicker doodles, chocolate chip cookies, cherry crumble, gingerbread bars and rice krispy bars).

The meal on May 29th will be BBQ Chicken, Italian Pasta Salad, Strawberry Fruit Salad, Fresh Fruit and more yummy desserts.  Read more about our Community Dinner HERE
