Deacons Noisy Offering Sets New Record

The weather couldn’t have been better and neither could the participation on January 31 when the Deacons hosted their 5th Sunday Deacons Appeal in the Church parking lot.  With a steady stream of cars, the drive-thru noisy offering yielded the record-breaking sum of $1,978.27!  Plus, it was GREAT to see so many people, masks and all. Thank you for your awesome generosity!

The Deacons Fund, which is only financially solvent by donations, helps meet the needs of church members, their families, and the community. As you know all too well, the needs of 2020 and continuing into 2021 have been greater than usual as a result of the pandemic. Thanks to your faithful generosity, your Deacons have been able to keep up with demand

Deacons appeal to the congregation during the offering time in worship whenever there’s a 5th Sunday in a month (usually 4 times a year). At least twice a year, the Deacons spin some of fun AND NOISE into the giving with a Noisy Offering made by tossing coins into paint cans as they’re pass through the pews. Because of the pandemic, our first Noisy Offering of 2021 was held outside. Members and friends simply drove through the church parking where Deacons and their helpers held metal buckets to collect coins, cash and checks. Deacons also used bells and other noise makers to add to the festivities.

If you were unable to attend the parking lot offering and would like to donate to the Deacons Fund, you can send a check to the church any time and simply mark “Deacons Fund” in the memo line. The next 5th Sunday Deacons Appeal will be May 30.
