A Blue Christmas Service – Saturday, December 21st – 1:00 pm

A ‘Blue’ Christmas Service, sometimes referred to as he Longest Night because it is held near the day with the least amount of light, is a service that is planned for those who are not felling particularly merry and bright …

There are a number of people at FPCL, and within our community, who are struggling with various kinds of pain and loss, and grief can be overwhelming.  This service creates time and space to address the grief, especially at this time of year.  Services like this provide an opportunity to hear the promise that God Almighty loves us in the midst of the mess and pain known in our everyday lives and the lives of those around us, to remind us that we do not travel alone.  God is with us.

Within this service there will be a variety of music but, instead of singing, you are invited to allow the music to resonate deep within you.  We will read from God’s Word and there will be a short message.  We will spend time in prayer and silent reflection.  After the service, here will be pastors and deacons available to talk or pray with those seeking.
