Missions Committee purpose
The Mission Committee works under FPCL's Mission Statement "to lead the community to a closer relationship with God through Jesus Christ." We accomplish this by administering aid to those to whom Scripture directs us and whom we feel the Holy Ghost calling us to help: the fatherless, widows, foreigners living among us, the needy who cry out, the weak who suffer violence, the poor and need and the hungry. When missions are selected, they are supported through financial contributions and prayer. Missions are frequently evaluated to determine their effectiveness.
Missions supported are not to be simply humanitarian aid. We strive to select missions that will enable the recipients to establish or improve a relationship with Jesus Christ and further the work of Christ's Kingdon here on earth.
